Not everyone who supports Habitat dons a tool belt and hammer. Such volunteers are essential. But equally essential are those who bring other gifts to the work: gifts of organization, gifts of communication, gifts of planning, gifts of finance--even gifts as practical as meal preparation.

Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity has six active committees, each one continually seeking fresh ideas and new energies. There is a committee to acquire land, to establish building policies, to select new homeowners, to heighten public awareness of Habitat's ministry, and to enlist faith communities as building partners.
